Occasional CEE Seminar: Martin Raiser
Occasional CEE Seminar
Steady growth over the past decades has brought Turkey to the threshold of high-income status, prosperity has been shared, and the size of the middle-class was doubled, according to a new World Bank report, “Turkey's Transitions: Integration, Inclusion, Institutions”. However, challenges remain. The presentation will cover Turkey’s experience in the transition from lower- to higher middle-income, examine what worked well, what other countries can learn from this, and what needs to change for Turkey to avoid remaining stuck at middle income level.
